Environmental Management Policy

Stahl Metall Engineering is committed to protecting human health and the environment and reducing the environmental impacts associated with our manufacturing activities, products and supply chain.

Our commitments

• Comply with applicable environmental laws, permits, customer requirements and the Victorian general environmental duty.
• Identify environmental hazards and eliminate or reduce risks from pollution and waste so far as reasonably practicable.
• Prevent spills and releases through appropriate storage, labelling, containment, handling and emergency-response controls.
• Apply the waste hierarchy by avoiding and reducing waste, then reusing and recycling where practicable before disposal.
• Use energy, water, raw materials and packaging efficiently and consider lower-impact alternatives where feasible.
• Control hazardous substances, emissions, noise and wastewater and use authorised transporters and disposal providers.
• Communicate requirements to employees, contractors and suppliers and provide appropriate training.
• Set objectives where appropriate, monitor performance, investigate incidents and continually improve controls.

Shared responsibility

Management will provide leadership and resources. Employees and contractors must follow approved controls, prevent unnecessary waste, report spills or hazards promptly and participate in corrective action.

Lifecycle thinking and review

Where practicable, environmental considerations are incorporated into purchasing, process design, manufacturing, packaging and end-of-life decisions without compromising safety, quality, security or customer requirements. This policy is reviewed periodically and when significant changes occur.
